Pieterjan De Vlieger


Pieter-Jan De Vlieger obtained a Master’s (licentiaat) in history at the University of Ghent (2003) and a Master’s in political science at the VUB (2005).He was a teaching assistant at the Department of Political Science between 2005 and 2012. He obtained his PhD in Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2012. His PhD was entitled "Lobbying in the Service of God and Church. The Adaptation of Church Representations to the European Union's Interest Group System." He is currently working at the Strategic Policy Unit of the Departement of Education and Training of the the Flemish administration. 

His research interests include (participatory) governance, lobbying at the European level, history of European integration and nations and nationalism.
