Vjosa Musliu is a Doctor Assistant at the Faculty of Political Science at the VUB. Her research interests include international interventions, EU external relations, the Balkans, post-structuralism and Derrida. Previously she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Conflict and Development Department (Ghent University) and the Centre for EU Studies (Ghent University).
In May 2015 she was a visiting researcher at the Maria Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin (Poland).
Prior to her academic career, Musliu has worked as a journalist in Kosovo and Albania. She is a regular columnist for the Swiss based media outlet ‘Dialogplus’ and a frequent commentator in Brussels based media.
She defended her PhD at Ghent University titled "A post-structuralist account of international missions. The case of Kosovo”, nominated for the Annual PhD Prize of the Dutch and Flemish Political Science Association. She holds a Master degree in European Politics and Policies from Catholic University of Leuven, and a bachelor degree in International Relations from University of New York Tirana and State University of New York.
