Kris Deschouwer is research professor and head of the Department of Political Science.
His research and publications deal with political parties, elections, political representation, regionalism, federalism and consociational democracy and Belgian politics.
He is the central co-ordinator of the Inter-University Attraction Pole PARTIREP (Political participation and representation in modern democracies).
He has been co-editor of the European Journal of Political Research (2003-2009).
He has held teaching and research positions at the University of Bergen, the Université de Lille, the Université de Aix-en-Provence, the Université de Lausanne, the European University Institute in Firenze, the Australian National University and the Universität MAnnheim.
Kris Deschouwer is president of the Vereniging voor Politieke Wetenschappen, the Dutch-speaking Belgian Political Science Association. |
