| Sam Depauw is a professor and postdoctoral researcher, working on the IAP on Participation and Representation. He obtained a master's degree in political science at the KU Leuven (1995) and a PhD at the same university (2000). His PhD research was on cohesion and discipline in the parliamentary party groups of Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom. He (co-)authored Rebellen in het Parlement (Universitaire Pers Leuven) and Een halve eeuw partijbureau in België (Acco Leuven), as well as a number of book chapters and journal articles. His current research is on political representation in a multi-level environment. A comparative survey among members of the regional and federal/national parliaments in fourteen European democracies is scheduled to address questions regarding the localised personal vote of legislators, their home style, and representational roles. |
